Gym Workouts: What You Need To Know
Most gyms have two types of equipments that gym bunnies employ in their daily workouts— free weights and machines.
Free weights are the most common type of equipment for body building. They are simple equipments that require no pulleys or levers such as dumbbells and weight plates. Machines, on the other hand, are composed of several parts and require more force in order to be moved. They include treadmills, stationary bikes, and leg press machines.
It depends on the individual’s physique on what kind of workouts will be prescribed to them. Such workouts may or may not consist of aerobic exercises, cardio, strength or resistance training, or a combination of the three. People who don’t want to bulk up would be required to do a rotation of cardio workouts such as running and aerobics, while people who prefer to build strong and big muscles would be requested to do a lot of strength and resistance training using heavy weights.
Warming Up For Gym Workouts
Indulging in heavy exercises can overwhelm your body’s responses. When this happens, the brain releases adrenalin so that the body can easily cope with the amount of stress as well as dip into more energy. In order to prevent your body from encountering this situation, be sure to engage in warm-up exercises that range from mild stretches to jumping jacks and dance routines. In some cases, leg or arm lifts done in resistance training are also involved.
Building Your Endurance For Gym Workouts
Pushing your body to the limit can also help in strengthening your muscles for future gym workouts. The human body is programmed to handle stress, and some hardcore fitness gurus like Jillian Michaels advocate incorporating heavy weight lifting, squats, and abdominal crunches during workouts so that individuals can handle more advanced exercises moving forward. This could be very challenging for beginners but nonetheless rewarding as they’ll find themselves breezing through workout sessions easily in the future. Once things start to get easy, however, individuals are advised to move on to harder exercises on their workout sessions.
