Weight Control: Not Letting Your Weight Control You
Weight control can be tough. Time consuming and very frustrating if thing don’t end up the way you want to. If you are overweight, the world seems to revolve around you becoming huge. You’ll be the center of attraction, and sometimes people tend to get nasty and give hurtful remarks. You won’t be able to dress the way you want and it really affects your self-esteem. But here are some practical tips to control your weight so your weight won’t control you.
Weight Control at Home
Early bird catches the early worm. Wake up early. A lot could be accomplished if you get of bed early. You could brisk walk around the neighborhood or jog with your friends. If you have kids, you could all go to the park and run around. Besides, the early morning sunshine can do a lot for you too.
Chores need not be a burden. Mopping the floor, scrubbing the bath tub, or doing other household chores at a very fast pace with some background music blasting can be a good cardio workout. Raking and digging in the garden tones your arms and back, while hoeing tones your and defines your arms and legs.
Be active, watch TV. Lift something, ride a stationary bike, or do some stretching while watching your favorite shows. If you love dance showdowns or talent shows, why not imitate the dance routines or just groove with the music. Watching TV does not mean sitting in the couch or slouching in the sofa bed.
Involve Snoopy in the act. Take daily walks with Fluffy, Boomer, or Pluto. If you don’t have a dog, borrow from your neighbor. Or why not make it a profitable gig as well? You control your weight, improve your health and be able to earn extra money all at the same time.
Weight Control at Work
Commute routine: bike or walk to work. If you have to take public transportation like a bus or a cab, get off a few blocks early and walk the rest of the way.
Take the stairs. If you have a meeting on the other floor, use the stairs. Just a few floors away from the cafeteria or pantry? Why not take the stairs entirely.
Swap coffee breaks to fitness breaks. Instead of getting coffee or smoking, which is kind of bad for your health, why not take walks? You’ll return to the office feeling more refreshed and ready for more work.
